Tula-Tu is sick with EEHV

Oregon Zoo announced that Tula-Tu has been suffering from illness due to EEHV.

The responsibility for Tula’s suffering lies entirely on the zoo and its rampant greed of breeding elephant calves at any cost.

You may recall that her sister Lily passed away at age six from a similar illness, in 2018. And her brother Samudra is being prepared to be shipped off to St. Louis for more breeding.

It bears repeating that breeding is not conservation — no zoo elephant has ever been released to the wild. The zoo’s idea of conservation is to maintain a permanent population of intelligent, sensitive beings kept captive and completely cut off from their nature, all for our amusement.

How much more suffering should the elephants endure until the zoo puts an end to this cruel practice of breeding?
